Patient Stories
“After experiencing a concussion while playing ice hockey in an adult league, and then a possible second one a few months later, I contacted Dr. Shetty to ensure I was dealing with my recovery correctly. She and her staff immediately put into action a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach that gave me the comfort that I was on a good path. While daunting at first, I followed the program strictly (and admittedly at times reluctantly). This not only led to a full concussion recovery, but also an improved commitment to my overall health. Dr. Shetty's holistic approach was motivating, and it worked. And I continue to implement a lot of what she required. It was worth the effort.”
“Dr. Shetty’s words, “young, motivated, and resilient” became one of my mantra’s as I navigated my active concussion recovery program including neck physical therapy, exertion therapy, vestibular therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychiatry, and acupuncture. My recovery also included a 10-day rest period (no screens, exercise, or reading, and 12-14 hours of sleep per day). After just 4 days for the first time in months, I began to realize there is a path to a life without a 6-month long constant headache.”
“From the moment Dr. Shetty entered the examination room, I knew I was where I needed to be, I felt both safe and supported. Dr. Shetty’s intelligence and calm demeanor along with her treatment plan was the solution that I was searching for. Her concussion protocol was challenging to follow at first but as each day passed it became easier. Her whole body approach combined with her team of specialists was refreshing, impactful and best of all, yielded positive results.”
“Dr Shetty provided a full, holistic approach to recovery which included athletic therapy, vestibular therapy, acupuncture, cognitive behavioral sessions with a concussion - specialist therapist. Dr Shetty truly provided a step by step plan of recovery that included careful monitoring, weekly revised plans to provide to the school which allowed for increased physical and cognitive functioning. We are so grateful for the caring, truly loving, experience that Dr. Shetty and her amazing team provided to Meadow and even myself. It was a six week process of A+ medical supervision and guidance led by brilliant Dr. Shetty.”
